KL1, a privately commissioned timepiece more than 1 year in the making, is now complete.
Handcrafted from solid quilted maple overlaid with a copper leaf patina, this piece features a rarely seen single-pivot grasshopper escapement, a very large sculpted frame, & hundreds of individually inset gear teeth.
NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE:
W1 is a large-scale timepiece that hangs 5' x 3.5' on the wall. Made from the client's choice among local hardwoods & several exotics, this piece will swing in seeming slow motion, gently ticking only once every two seconds.
Of the three that will be built, one edition of W1 remains available.
Glass-housed, L1 is a weight-driven mechanical table clock that features a lunar phase complication, indicating the current phase of the moon via a rotating globe made from ebony & holly. A brass bell gently chimes the full moon each month.
Of the five that will be built, one edition of L1 remains available.
B1 is a hardwood timepiece built in homage to the work of Martin Burgess, the primary motive force behind Clock B. This piece will feature a Harrison remontoire, maintaining power, grasshopper escapement, & several giant hardwood gears with Lignum Vitae teeth.
Of the two that will be built, one edition of B1 remains available.
